August 12th PLC Minutes

August 12, 2015

Members Present:  Mollie Medley, Joy Janes, Lisa Rucker, Kelsey Mattingly, Jackie Stevens, Sarah Swarts, Jeremy Hill and Jessica Scheerhorn

Similarities of missions:

Growth mindset, self worth, success, learning environment, growth and love for learning

In our PLC:

Developing lesson plans together, discussion, incorporating differentiation and remediation, cross curricular connections

What are our goals:

Developing lesson plans collaboratively, discussing how activities look in the classroom,  designing/modifying/evaluating assessments, evaluating program review and uploading artifacts and analyzing behavior data.

Team Mission:


Mollie:  Our team mission is increase student achievement by collaboratively planning instruction and assessments that are Common Core aligned.  We will strive to embed enrichment and remediation in our lessons while also incorporating best practices so that we can help each student reach his/her full potential.  We will also evaluate our Program Review to ensure that artifacts/evidence support the dedication we have to our students.


Joy:


Jackie: Classroom teachers, co-teachers, the instructional coach, and administration will collaborate each week to determine the appropriate strategies and techniques which best meet student needs.  Collaboration will support the creation and modification of formative assessments, enrichment, and remediation opportunities.  Time will be allotted for the evaluation and documentation of evidence regarding Program Review.


Lisa:
  Collaboratively plan and discuss instructional strategies to promote student growth and self worth.


Kelsey: Our team mission is to increase achievement in academics, socially and emotionally by planning collaboratively with general education teachers, co-teachers, administration and the instructional coach. We will use that time to create and modify formative assessments aligned to Common Core Curriculum. We will consistently provide enrichment and remediation opportunities for students while providing various instructional techniques. We will also provide evaluation time for Program Review to upload evidence and documentation to demonstrate our constant commitment to student achievement.


Sarah:

Our 3rd grade team mission is to provide children with a learning environment that actively engages them in academic and social growth to become of worth to themselves and others. In order to successfully achieve this mission, our PLC vision is to collaborate professionally each week to determine the best teaching strategies and techniques to be used in our classrooms. To benefit our students we will utilize each other, our administration, instructional coach and co-teachers support during these PLC meetings to create and modify lesson plans. During this time we will also evaluate Program Review and upload evidence gathered.

Our vision:

Our third grade team mission for our PLC meetings is to increase students' social, emotional and cognitive well-being.  We will do this by collaborating as classroom teachers, co-teachers, the instructional coach, and administration through lesson planning.  Each week we will determine the appropriate strategies and techniques to best meet student needs.  Collaboration will support the creation and modification of formative assessments, enrichment, and remediation opportunities.  We will also analyze our Program Review and upload evidence and documentation to demonstrate our constant commitment to student achievement.
